Sometimes when we do Phase I ESAs, we find an Underground Storage Tank (UST) that was abandoned in the ground, it needs to be removed. A tank pull is an operation where a consultant coordinates with a licensed tank pull contractor, the fire marshal and a laboratory to properly remove the tank and file the appropriate paperwork with the regulatory agencies.
A3E can help you stay on the right side of the law.
A3 Environmental Consultants manage the entire process for you.
A3E will hire the excavator, coordinate with the fire marshal and be onsite to manage the process. We'll take soil samples from the sidewalls and bottom of the pit to submit to the laboratory. We'll help you get the clean bill of health from the Department of Environmental Quality.
It's a bother, but we'll make it better as quickly as possible and get you back to doing what you do best.
How long will a tank pull take?
Typically 30 days, however we are at the mercy of the tank pull contractors existing schedule. We can rush the order but it will always require an upcharge.
What kind of cost can I expect?
The costs vary depending on the scope of the project, whether the tank has product in it and whether the tank has leaked. The costs we've seen usually vary between $10,000 and $30,000.
